Gabriela Geenen, née Streglova, was born on 26 October 1973 in Jablonec nad-Nisou in the Czech Republic. She grew up with her mother and brother and completed secondary school and grammar school there. The communist system that dominated society and culture in the Czech Republic at that time pushed back her intellectual world and her desire for freedom and uncensored communication. After the revolution, Gabinka was 18 years old. The end of the revolution was a relief for her. Finally, she could discover the free, western world. She worked in hotels, restaurants and in the tourism industry. In these places, she came into contact with many people from different countries. These encounters shaped the forms of expression and messages of her later paintings. With her pop art style, Gabinka expresses experiences, feelings and thoughts, but also the effects of sex, power and pain. One of her central themes is her masterpieces, which are accompanied by monsters and "the horned one", whether with a malicious smile or as an expression of the constant presence of good and evil in our daily lives. As a little girl, Gabinka often dreamt of monsters due to her difficult childhood. The viewer of her pop art masterpieces is captured by the play of colours, which makes him think about her paintings and about the hidden messages in Gabinka's paintings. Painting, drawing and sketching have always been part of Gabinka's life. Sometimes her subconscious turned inward and manifested itself in her artworks. Her first big vernissage in September 2012 in Lyss was noticed by various art critics, visitors and the media. Gabinka and her small family have lived in Switzerland since 1997. The forms of expression and messages expressed in her art and paintings are not limited. One thing that influenced Gabinka's life was the death of her mother in 2012. It showed her the limits of our existence, but it also gave her the experience of how much such an emotional event can influence the expression of her paintings.
